Grab a bike and escape the centre. These routes show you the Bruges that tourists miss.

Bruges is flat. Perfectly, blissfully flat. Here are five routes:

\1. Bruges to Damme (14km round trip): The classic canal path. 2. Bruges to Zeebrugge (24km): Through the polders to the coast. 3. Bruges to Loppem Castle (16km): Neo-Gothic fantasy with gardens. 4. The Rampart Circuit (12km): All four surviving city gates and three windmills. 5. Bruges to Oostkamp (20km): Converted rail trail through woods.

Always lock your bike. Bruges has low crime, but bike theft is the exception.
